Meet Jill Johnson
Jill Johnson is a STEM education professional from Orlando, Florida with a passion for inspiring innovation and STEM confidence among young learners.
Jill earned her master’s degree in instructional design and educational technology from the University of Central Florida. She is a certified Elementary Education K-6 Teacher, with an endorsement in Reading and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Jill is a certified Clinical Educator, Google Certified Educator, Newsela Certified Educator, and EdPuzzle Certified Coach. She was named Curriculum Associates Extraordinary Educator 2022, and most recently a LEGO Education Ambassador.
Working as an educator or over 10 years, Jill influenced more than just her students in that time. She worked to initiate new community partnerships and STEM engagement opportunities in a number of ways. Jill designed and established a dedicated Makerspace and school-site STEM Lab including the incorporation of 3D printing, robotics, and coding solutions, along with the establishment of a local Girls Who Code club.
Jillian has participated in numerous global webinars, expert panels, and educational podcasts focused on STEM Education with companies such as Tech & Learning, Symbaloo, LEGO Education, and Curriculum Associates. She has also co-authored a peer-reviewed journal article published by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and presented at the STEM Education Conference at Purdue University. Jill will be presenting at the Space Educators Conference in Kennedy Space Center and ISTE Live 24 in Denver, CO the summer of 2024.
Jill Johnson's mission is to empower learners with STEM skills, advocating for minorities in STEM fields, and helping to inspire innovative ideas and collaborative connections addressing global concerns and the advancement of education.
