Space Port Area Conference for Educators
Empowering Students in STEM: Building Space Vocabulary (Grades K-5)
Jillian Johnson shows how to empower students in STEM with interactive hands-on explorations focused on building earth, space and science vocabulary aligned with NGSS. Participants will explore engineering with a variety of supplies that will complement classroom lessons and give teachers the confidence to lead students through creative, curriculum based STEAM projects about space. Building models of space vocabulary will be our focus project, but the methodology can be used for almost any topic. This workshop will get teachers imagining, creating, and building in a matter of minutes, and be ready to implement new activities immediately with students.
